Following an accident, if you contact your insurance company, they may attempt to direct you to a bodyshop of their choice. This can be because the insurance company has an agreement in place with a specific bodyshop to refer all customers to them, in exchange for low rates.
Some insurance companies may even insist on using non genuine parts in order to keep their costs low.
These insurance companies have their own interests at heart, not yours! It’s your legal right to have your car repaired wherever you choose.
